UPCOMING IMPROVERS' LESSON: TRANSFERS
Monday 2nd February 2026: 8.30am - 11.45amJacoby Transfers are one of the most useful and popular conventions in modern bridge. This lesson is a complete guide to transfer bids after 1NT and 2NT openings, including:
- Transfers to majors and minors
- What comes next after partner accepts your transfer
- Transferring with two-suited hands
- Clarifying your hand to ensure you finish in the right contract
- When NOT to transfer
Cost is $15.00 and includes lesson notes and morning tea. All are welcome and no partner is required.

LET'S LEARN BRIDGE BEGINNERS' COURSE
Six week course commences Monday 9th February 2026: 8.30am- 11.45amThis is a fun, stimulating and very interactive course, specially designed to give you a solid foundation of basic bridge in the least amount of time.
After just six lessons you'll be able to play bridge in my supervised sessions. This is where the real learning happens, as you get to practice your new skills in a supportive and pressure-free setting.
You can learn with a partner, or come solo and we'll match you up with someone - playing bridge is a great way to meet new people and make lifelong friends!
Cost for the six-week course is $60 and includes my lesson book and morning tea.

BEGINNERS' PROGRESSION/SUPERVISED PLAY
Supervised play for Beginners/NovicesEvery Monday morning, commencing 23rd March 2026: 8.45am-11.45am
Following on from the six-week Let's Learn Bridge Beginners' Course, I am running weekly supervised play sessions, combined with ongoing education. I'll be covering a wide range of topics including scoring, weak and strong bidding, opening no trumps, declarer card play and defence. Don't worry - I won't overload you with more and more complexity! The lessons are short, introduced very gradually, and designed to build on your knowledge as you become more comfortable and familiar with the basics.
Playing in supervised sessions will help you become a more confident and competent player. You can refer to your notes, and I have a wonderful team of helpers to support and spur you on.
In a short while you will be ready to play in our Novice sessions and participate in the special club events for new players. Lots of fun times ahead!
All newbies are welcome and you can come with or without a partner.
Important: To enable us to run smoothly, please arrive and be seated by 8.30am.
Cost is normal game fee: $7 members/ $9 non-members.
